COURSE SUPPORT

Pacers: 50M runners may pick-up a pacer before they start their 3rd loop. Pacers must sign a waiver and wear a pacer bib which will be available for pick-up at the start/finish line. Pacers are not allowed for the 10K, 25K or 50K.

Aid Stations:
The race will have one central aid station that is hit multiple times in the race. 25k runners will hit the aid station 3 times, 50k runners 5 times and 50 mile runners 8 times. The aid station mileage for each distance is noted on the course map above.

We will have water, Gatorade, candy and various assorted sweet and salty snacks. If you have specific dietary needs please plan on bringing your own nutrition as it is impossible to accommodate everyone. Our aid stations will be cupless, meaning there are no cups available for water or electrolyte drink (we will use limited cups for soda). All runners will be required to carry a water bottle or other hydration system capable of holding 16oz. of liquid. We will be offering some soup as a hot food option later in the day (after noon).

Search and Rescue:
Pierce County SAR 4x4 will be monitoring the course to assist runners with any issues or injuries.

Hydration/Water Bottle Requirements:
All runners
regardless of distance are required to carry a water bottle or other hydration system that is capable of holding a minimum of 16oz. of fluid. While the course has frequent aid on average every 5-6 miles, for those that have not run in a desert environment before, the air is much drier, and even at cooler air temperatures you will loose more fluid through sweating and evaporation than you think you will. Also, there is absolutely zero shade on this course, so if it is a sunny day, even temperatures in the 50’s or 60’s could feel on the warm side. Our aid station will also be cupless to reduce the amount of trash we produce, and the only way to get water or electrolyte drink will be using your own water bottles. We will be verifying you have the appropriate hydration gear at bib pick-up and will not allow you to get your bib without showing us your hydration system.

Trash on the Course:
Anyone seen leaving trash on the trail will be disqualified from the race and banned from any future Run Super Series events.
We have an absolute zero tolerance policy for leaving trash on the course! If you pack it in, you are going to have to pack it out. Please hold onto your trash and discard it properly at an aid station. It is NOT acceptable to leave trash anywhere on the course. It is NOT acceptable to leave trash near course markings thinking we are going to pick it up for you. Trash left near trail markings can blow away and end up somewhere where it doesn’t belong. It is a privilege for us to use these amazing trails! Any littering on the course puts our permit at risk for hosting future events. Also, if you see any trash on the course, please be a trail angel and pick it up bring it to the aid station :)

Dogs: Dogs are not allowed to run in the event. Well behaved and leashed dogs are welcome to camp out for the night and to hang out at the start / finish line with your crew!

CREW ACCESS & PaCERS

Your friends and family are welcome to hang out and crew/support you at the start/finish line! Crews will be able to see their runners between each sub-loop at the main aid station located at the start/finish area. There is no crew access at any other point along the course.

Pacers are only allowed in the 50M race on Saturday. You may pick up a pacer for your final ~17 miles covering your final red, green and blue loops. Pacers must check in at the aid station and sign a pacer waiver.

Travel and lodging

The closest overnight hotel accommodations are in Quincy or George which is about a 20 minute drive to the trailhead. Our partner hotel, is located in George and is the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham. Call them and let them know you are with the race for special perks! Options in Quincy include the Knights Inn, The Quincy Inn and Suites and the Sundowner Motel. If you are looking for larger branded options there are a number of the “big brands” available in Moses Lake, which is about a 1 hour drive from the trailhead.

You are welcome to car camp at the parking area the night before as well!
